MORAVIAN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM,
TWO PLAYERS RANKED IN LATEST NCAA STATISTICS RELEASE
INDIANAPOLIS,
IN --- The Moravian College women’s basketball team is ranked
two categories in the eighth NCAA III Division women’s basketball
statistical ranking released Tuesday, and the Greyhounds have two
players ranked. The statistics include games through February 18th.
Freshman guard Jessica Foran (Annandale, NJ/Rutgers Prep
HS), pictured at right, is 28th in the nation in free throw
percentage, connecting on 84.5 percent (71 of 84) of her free throw
attempts. Senior forward Kelly Applegate (Easton, PA/Wilson
HS), pictured below, is 33rd in the country at 83.9 percent
(120 of 143) at the foul line. Applegate is one
of 23 players ranked in the top 50 to have attempted at least 100
free throws this season.
The
Greyhounds are third in the nation in free throw percentage at 75.8
percent (450 of 594), and the squad has made the second most free
throws of the 50 ranked teams and attempted the third most free
throws. Moravian is 26th in the country in steals per game with
an average of 13.2.
Moravian is 15-10 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday,
February 21st in a Commonwealth Conference Semifinal game at Albright
College tipping off at 7:00 p.m. in Reading.
