MORAVIAN MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM SELECTED SIXTH IN LANDMARK CONFERENCE PRESEASON POLL

MADISON, N.J. --- The 2007 Moravian College men’s cross country team has been picked to finish sixth in the inaugural Landmark Conference season in a preseason poll selected by the conference’s head coaches and sports information directors.

Susquehanna University was selected first in the poll with 64 points just one point ahead of the United States Merchant Marine Academy with 63 points and three points in front of Juniata College with 61 points. The University of Scranton finished fourth in the preseason voting with 42 points while The Catholic University of America collected 41 points to finish fifth. Rounding out the poll were the Greyhounds with 29 points, Goucher College with 19 points and Drew University with 17 points.

Moravian returns five letterwinners returning on the men’s team. The cross country squad is going into the 2007 season with high hopes ahead of them as second-year head coach Welles Lobb looks into building his young teams up enough to be a top competitor in the Landmark Conference. The team began its preseason on Wednesday, August 22nd.

The Greyhounds begin their 2007 season on Friday, September 7th at the Lehigh Valley Games hosted by Lehigh University on the Goodman Campus at 5:00 p.m. The inaugural Landmark Conference championship meet will be held on Saturday, October 27th at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland.
