MORAVIAN’S MARY KING NAMED LANDMARK
CONFERENCE WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MADISON,
NJ --- Freshman middle hitter Mary King (Paramus, NJ/Paramus
HS) of the Moravian College women’s volleyball team
has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Volleyball
Player of the Week for her performance last week.
King helped the Greyhounds to a 3-2 record last
week including a 2-2 mark at the Gettysburg College Battlefield
Classic. For the week, King hit .429 with 58 kills,
15 blocks, seven digs and seven service aces in 17 games. She had
a career highs of 20 kills and eight digs in a 3-1 victory over
Washington (MD) College to finish out the week.
King started the week with nine kills, three
blocks and two digs in a 3-0 win over DeSales University. She then
had five kills in a 3-0 loss to Gettysburg College and eight kills
in a 3-0 loss to Virginia Wesleyan College on the first day of the
Gettysburg College Battlefield Classic. King finished
out the tournament with 16 kills, five service aces and three blocks
in a 3-1 win over Eastern University and her 20-kill, eight-block
performance against Washington.
Moravian, which is 6-3 overall, is scheduled to return to action
on Tuesday, September 11th in a non-conference match at Swarthmore
College beginning at 7:00 p.m.
