MORAVIAN’S BISCI, McGORRY & RECKENBEIL NAMED CENTENNIAL CONFERENCE WEEKLY FOOTBALL HONOR ROLLS

LANCASTER, PA --- Senior tight end Kris Bisci (Easton, PA/Easton HS), junior linebacker Kevin McGorry (Whitehall, PA/Allentown Central Catholic HS) and junior kicker Brian Reckenbeil (Branchburg, NJ/Somerville HS) of the Moravian College football team have been named to the Centennial Conference Weekly Honor Rolls for their performances in the Greyhounds’ 19-18 victory versus Lebanon Valley College Saturday afternoon.

Bisci, pictured at right, caught six passes for 74 yards and a touchdown in Moravian’s win over Lebanon Valley and was named to the Centennial Conference Offensive Honor Roll. Bisci’s two-yard scoring grab with 6:52 left in the game was the winning touchdown as Moravian came-from-behind to defeat the Flying Dutchmen.

McGorry, pictured at left, made a game high 13 tackles including a sack and a forced fumble to lead the Moravian defense.  The Greyhound defense allowed just 67 yards on 29 plays in the first half of the game while forcing two turnovers and six punts.  McGorry, who was named to the Centennial Conference Defensive Honor Roll, had nine of his tackles along with the sack and forced fumble in the first half.

Reckenbeil earned a spot on the Centennial Conference Special Teams Honor Roll and became Moravian’s all-time leader in field goals with a pair in the game.  Reckenbeil connected from 32 yards in the first quarter and then from 31 yards in the second quarter.  The second field goal was the 21st of his career, surpassing the previous record of 20 set by Tim Cunniff from 1987 to 1990. Reckenbeil, pictured at right, came up wide left in his third field goal attempt of the game, a 36-yard attempt into the wind in the third quarter. Reckenbeil is 21 of 30 on field goal attempts in his career in just 20 games as the starting kicker. Reckenbeil also connected on the game-winning extra-point against the Flying Dutchmen to raise his career point total to 114, just 17 points shy of the school record.

Moravian returns to action in its first-ever Centennial Conference road game on Saturday, September 22nd at Johns Hopkins University with kickoff slated for 1:00 p.m. at Homewood Field in Baltimore, Maryland.
