MORAVIAN’S TRACY FITZPATRICK & CAITLIN CORRIGAN NAMED LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S SOCCER OFFENSIVE & DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Junior forward Tracy Fitzpatrick (Wantage, NJ/High Point Regional HS) and junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge HS) of the Moravian College women’s soccer team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for their performance last week.

The duo helped Moravian to a 3-0 record last week including a 9-1 win over Goucher College in Landmark Conference action for the team’s sixth straight win.

Fitzpatrick, who is Moravian’s leading scorer with ten goals and four assists, had two goals and four assists in three matches last week.  Fitzpatrick, pictured at right, set up the only goal in a 1-0 victory over rival Muhlenberg College before netting two goals and adding an assist in a 4-1 win over Philadelphia Biblical University.  Fitzpatrick finished the week with two assists in the victory over Goucher.

Corrigan, pictured at left, won all three matches in goal for Moravian last week with six saves and a 0.41 goals-against average for the week.  Corrigan began the week with six saves in the shutout of Muhlenberg.  The shutout was her sixth of the season and the 21st of her career, which is tied for second in school history.  Corrigan did not save and allowed a goal in 83 minutes of action against Philadelphia Biblical University.  She did have an assist in the match as a punt bounced free and sent Fitzpatrick on a breakaway goal.  Corrigan played just a half and did not face a shot in the win over Goucher.

Moravian, which is 11-2 overall, is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, October 9th in a non-conference match at Lebanon Valley College beginning at 4:00 p.m.
