FITZPATRICK HONORED AS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

MADISON, NJ --- Junior midfielder Tracy Fitzpatrick (Wantage, NJ/High Point Regional HS) of the Moravian College women’s soccer team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the year, and earned First Team All-Conference honors along with junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge HS) and sophomore forward Alessandra Valdetara (Butler, NJ/Butler HS) announced Tuesday.

Senior defender Robyn Klem (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic HS) and sophomore defender Terri Roberts (Danville, PA/Danville HS) each earned spots on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team.

The quintet has led Moravian to a 14-4-1 record this season and the second seed in the 2007 Landmark Conference Tournament that begins on Wednesday.  The Greyhounds will host third seed The Catholic University of America at 3:00 p.m. on the HUB Quad.

Fitzpatrick, pictured at top right, leads the 2007 Greyhounds in scoring with 12 goals and five assists for 29 points including six game-winning goals. Fitzpatrick missed the entire 2006 season due to an injury and is tied for fifth in school history in scoring with 53 points.

Corrigan, pictured at left, has posted a 0.59 goals-against average with 69 saves, a 14-4-1 record and ten shutouts in 1,666 minutes.  Corrigan, who was the first-ever Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week and has won the award four times this season including this week, has set the school record with 25 career shutouts. She has also scored an assist this season on a long punt that sent Fitzpatrick in on a breakaway.

Valdetara, pictured at right, has contributed four goals and five assists for 13 points with one game-winning goal this fall.

Klem, pictured at left, has started in 14 matches this season, missing five due to injury.  She is just one of three players that has not scored a point for the Greyhounds this season, but she has helped the team post ten shutouts.

Roberts, pictured at bottom right, has two game-winning goals and an assist for five points.  One of her game-winning goals came in overtime in a 2-1 victory over King’s College on a shot from at least 35-yards away from the goal.
