WITH THIRD PLACE FINISH AT 2007 PHILADELPHIA MARATHON

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Moravian College graduate Heidi Wolfsberger, class of 2002, finished 49th overall and third among women at the 2007 Philadelphia Marathon in a time of 2:44.03 to qualify for the 2008 United States Olympic Trials.

Wolfsberger, who earned multiple All-Amerian accolades and captured the 2001 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championship in the 1,500 meter run, will compete in the U.S. Olympic Trials on April 20, 2008 in Boston. The Olympic qualifying race will be run the day before the 2008 Boston Marathon on a specially-designed course that uses the same starting line as the Boston Marathon.

Wolfsberger, pictured at right running in the 2001 Penn Relays, was almost three full minutes under the qualifying standard of 2:47.00 at the Philadelphia Marathon and joins a list of over 30 athletes that have already qualified for the 2008 U.S. Olympic trials. The top three runners at the Olympic trials will qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games in Bejing, China.
