THREE GREYHOUNDS & MORAVIAN TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III WOMEN’S BASKETBALL STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Sophomores guard Jessica Foran (Annandale, NJ/Rutgers Prep HS) and forwards Alyssa Bisci (Easton, PA/Easton HS) and Kirsty Stearns (East Norwich, NY/Oyster Bay HS) along with the Moravian College women’s basketball team are ranked in free throw percentage in the tenth NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2007-08 season including games through March 2nd.

Stearns, pictured at right, is tied for third in the country at 91.7 percent for the season, and Stearns is 77 of 84 at the line having played in 25 games for the Greyhounds. 

Foran, who is pictured at left and reached the minimum for percent of team games played midway through the season due to early season injuries, is currently fifth in the nation in free throw percentage at 90.1 percent, having made 100 of 111 free throws this season.  Foran, who missed five games at the start of the season, has played in just 21 of Moravian’s 26 games this season.

Bisci, pictured at bottom right, is currently tied for 14th in the nation in free throw percentage at 87.1 percent, and she has made 88 of 101 free throws in 22 games this season, having missed four games with an injury early in the year. 

Moravian is ranked eighth in free throw percentage this season at 75.9 percent, making 489 of 644 free throw attempts.  The Greyhounds have made 47 more free throws than their opponents have attempted this season.

The Greyhounds, who are 16-10 overall and were 9-5 in Landmark Conference action, will return to action on Wednesday, March 5th in an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III Southern Quarterfinal game at Washington & Jefferson College at 7:00 p.m.  Moravian is the fourth seed in the tournament while the Presidents are seeded fourth.
