MORAVIAN’S JASON TOSCHES & BENJAMON LEAVY HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE
MEN’S LACROSSE PLAYER & DEFENDER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Junior attack Jason Tosches (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South HS) of the Moravian College men’s lacrosse team has been honored as the Landmark Conference Player of the Week while freshman goalie Benjamin Leavy (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown HS) was named the Landmark Conference Defender of the Week for their performances last week.

The duo helped Moravian to a pair of victories in Florida on the team’s spring trip, an 18-2 win over Alvernia College at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando and a 14-6 triumph versus the University of New England at Sylvan Lake Park in Sanford.  Moravian is 3-2 after five matches for just the second time in the brief five-year history of the program, matching the 3-2 start by the inaugural squad in 2004.

Tosches, pictured at right, led the Greyhounds with 12 goals and two assists.  Tosches began the week with six goals and two assists in the win over Alvernia.  He then had six goals in the victory versus New England.  Tosches' six goals against the Nor-Easters gave him 53 for his career, the fifth player in school history to reach 50 career goals.

Leavy, pictured at left, registered the victories in goal while allowing just 4.00 goals per game and making 13.5 saves per match. Leavy had ten saves and allowed just two goals in the victory over Alvernia.  He then had 17 saves and allowed six goals in the win versus New England.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, March 15th in a non-conference home match versus King’s College beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Rocco Calvo Field.
