MORAVIAN’S FLORA ROBERTSON HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Sophomore thrower Flora Robertson (Hawley, PA/East Stroudsburg North HS) of the Moravian College women’s outdoor track & field team has been named the inaugural Landmark Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Robertson helped Moravian to a third place finish at the Lafayette College ESU 4-Way Meet to begin the 2008 outdoor season.  Robertson provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships in the hammer throw with a school record toss of 46.80 meters (153 feet, six inches), placing her fifth of 14 competitors as the only Division III thrower in the event. 

Robertson was also seventh in the discus with a toss of 25.63 meters (84 feet, one inch), and she was ninth in the shot put with a distance of 9.33 meters (30 feet, 7 1/2 inches). Robertson placed sixth in the javelin throw with a toss of 31.82 meters (104 feet, five inches).

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 5th at the Muhlenberg College Invitational.
