MORAVIAN’S JENNEL YELITO NAMED LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Senior Jennel Yelito (Tamaqua, PA/Tamaqua HS) of the Moravian College women’s tennis team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Yelito posted an overall mark of 3-1 last week in singles and doubles action in a 1-1 week for the Greyhounds. Yelito earned both a singles and a doubles win on Moravian's 5-4 loss at NCAA Division II Philadelphia University. Yelito and doubles partner Brittany Popaca (Lavallette, NJ/Point Pleasant Beach HS) earned a 9-8 (7-4) win at second doubles, and Yelito won 6-1, 6-2 win at fourth singles. 

In Moravian's 5-4 win over Goucher College to remain undefeated in Landmark Conference action, Yelito clinched the victory with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 win at fourth singles.  Her only loss of the week was in doubles action versus Goucher with an 8-4 setback.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, April 9th in a Landmark Conference match at the University of Scranton beginning at 3:30 p.m.
