MORAVIAN’S MARIA DEBONIS & SOFTBALL TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III SOFTBALL STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Junior pitcher Maria DeBonis (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame HS) and the Moravian College softball team are ranked in the second NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2008 season including games through April 6th.

DeBonis is fifth in the nation in hits allowed per seven innings at 2.38, seventh in strikeouts per seven innings at 9.8 and 20th in ERA with a 1.19 ERA through 11 appearances this spring.

Moravian is ranked third in the nation with a fielding percentage of .977, and the Greyhounds are 13th in earned run average with a 1.23 ERA through the first 20 games of 2008.

The Greyhounds, who are 17-5 overall on the season and 4-0 in Landmark Conference action, are scheduled to return to action on Thursday, April 10th in a non-conference doubleheader at rival Muhlenberg College beginning at 3:00 p.m. in Allentown.
