FIVE GREYHOUNDS NAMED TO 2008 LANDMARK WOMEN’S TENNIS ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS;
Kerry McKinley Named Rookie of the Year

MADISON, NJ --- The Moravian College women’s tennis team has had five student-athletes earn spots on the 2008 Landmark All-Conference Teams with senior Brittany Popaca (Lavallette, NJ/Point Pleasant Beach HS), pictured at right, making the First Team as a singles player and senior Lindsey Hopper (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex HS) and junior Dyana Swan (Branchburg, NJ/Somerville HS) earning First Team as a doubles tandem.

Hopper, pictured at left, senior Rebecca Angstadt (Hamburg, PA/Hamburg HS) and senior Jennel Yelito (Tamaqua, PA/Tamaqua HS) earned spots on the All-Conference Second Team as singles players while Popaca and Yelito were honored as an All-Conference Second Team doubles duo.  Moravian freshman Kerry McKinley (Sparta, NJ/Pope John XXIII HS) was named the 2008 Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year.

The Landmark All-Conference Teams were selected by the conference’s seven head coaches.  The teams consist of six singles players and three doubles pairings per team based on flight.

Moravian head coach Dawn Ketterman-Benner has the Greyhounds in the postseason for the 14th straight season after leading the Greyhounds to an 8-5 overall record and a perfect 6-0 mark in the inaugural Landmark Conference season.  Ketterman-Benner, who has a career mark of 221-83, has led Moravian to the conference championship match in each of the last 13 years.

Popaca is 13-4 in singles action with a 2-0 mark at second singles and an 8-3 slate at third singles.  She has a career singles mark of 59-12, the third highest win total in school history.  Popaca and Yelito are 7-3 on the season including 5-1 at second doubles, and Popaca has won 30 career doubles matches, seventh in school history.  Yelito, pictured at right, has an 11-5 singles mark this season with a 9-1 mark at fourth singles.  Yelito has a career record of 45-15 in singles action.

Hopper and Swan, pictured at left, have combined for a 6-4 doubles mark including 5-3 at first doubles.  Hopper has also posted a 9-7 singles slate this season and is 4-4 at first singles.

Angstadt, pictured at right, leads the Greyhounds with a 15-4 singles mark and is 8-0 at sixth singles this year.  She has a career mark of 37-8 in singles.

McKinley, pictured at left, has a 14-5 singles mark in her debut season with Moravian including a 3-1 slate at sixth singles and a 6-1 mark at fifth singles.
