MORAVIAN’S ERICA SPATZ NAMED LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S LACROSSE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Senior midfielder Erica Spatz (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken HS) of the Moravian College women’s lacrosse team has been named as the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week for a second straight week after her performance last week.

Spatz concluded one of the best individual seasons in school history last week with nine goals and two assists for 11 points.  Moravian was 1-1 during the week to clinch its first-ever winning season in the six-year history of the program.  Spatz also had nine ground balls, eight draw controls and two caused turnovers during the week.

Spatz had five goals and two assists in a 25-10 victory over Alvernia College, the most goals scored by Moravian in a single match in program history.  Her fifth goal against Alvernia was the 100th of her career, just the third player to reach the 100-goal mark.  Spatz added four goals in a 13-10 loss at Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference action to conclude the season.

Spatz completed her career with 104 goals and 20 assists, which is tied for the school record, for 124 points in just three seasons as she missed all but one half of a match as a sophomore due to an injury.

Moravian has completed its best season in the six-year history of the program with a 9-7 overall record, the first winning record for the Greyhounds since becoming a varsity sport.
