MORAVIAN’S OZZIE BROWN & BLAIR MAGINNIS NAMED LANDMARK CONFERENCE
MEN’S TRACK & CO-FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Senior sprinter/jumper Ozzie Brown (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh HS) of the Moravian College men’s outdoor track & field team has been named the Landmark Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for the second straight week while junior Blair Maginnis (Asbury, NJ/Warren Hills Regional HS) was honored as the Co-Field Athlete of the Week for their performances last weekend while leading Moravian to the inaugural Landmark Conference Championship.

Brown, pictured at right, won three track events, two relay events and one field event while being named the Male Athlete of the Meet at the 2008 Landmark Conference Championships.  Brown captured the 100-meter dash in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 10.73 seconds, the 200-meter dash in a stadium record and NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 21.56 seconds and the 110-meter high hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 14.49 seconds.  He also led the Greyhounds to victories in the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays by running the anchor leg. 

In the field events, Brown won the long jump with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying leap of 7.26 meters (23 feet, ten inches). He was also second in the high jump clearing 1.93 meters (six feet, four inches) and third in the shot put at 12.41 meters (40 feet, 8 3/4 inches).

Maginnis, pictured at left, won a pair of events at the 2008 Landmark Conference Championships and was named the co-Field Athlete of the Meet.  Maginnis, who was named the Landmark Cofnerence Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, captured the shot put with a school record toss of 15.92 meters (50 feet, two inches) on his final throw of the competition and won the discus with a toss of 41.27 meters (135 feet, five inches).  He also placed fourth in the hammer throw.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Thursday and Friday, May 15th and 16th at the 2008 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships hosted by Springfield College.
