MORAVIAN’S SYDNI WISNIEWSKI HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Freshman sprinter/jumper Sydni Wisniewski (Orlando, FL/Winter Park HS) of the Moravian College women’s outdoor track & field team has been honored as the Landmark Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for her performance last week while leading Moravian to the 2008 Landmark Conference Championship.

Wisniewski won three sprint events and two relay events while being named the Female Track Athlete of the Meet at the 2008 Landmark Conference Championships.  Wisniewski, who was named the Landmark Conference Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, won the 100-meter dash in 12.60 seconds, the 200-meter dash in a time of 25.67 seconds and the 400-meter dash in a school record time of 58.40 seconds.  She also led Moravian to victories in the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays by running the anchor legs.  In field events, Wisniewski took sixth in the long jump at 5.18 meters (17 feet) and fifth in the high jump, clearing 1.47 meters (four feet, 9 3/4 inches).

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Thursday and Friday, May 15th and 16th at the 2008 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships hosted by Springfield College.
