MORAVIAN’S ERICA KLEPEISZ NAMED TO ESPN The MAGAZINE ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT SOFTBALL THIRD TEAM

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Junior Erica Klepeisz (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth HS) of the Moravian College softball team team has been named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II College Division Softball Third Team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

To be eligible for ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® accolades, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve. The College Division is made up of all the NCAA Division II and III schools in the nation as well as all NAIA schools.  Student-athletes from NCAA Division I schools are named to the University Division Teams.  District II is made up of schools from Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Klepeisz, who has a 3.57 GPA and is majoring in elementary education and history, started in centerfield for the Greyhounds and was named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team.  Klepeisz added 39 hits, 29 runs, eight doubles, three triples, a .345 average, a team leading six stolen bases and 23 RBIs.

The Greyhounds posted a 33-6 overall record this spring, the 15th consecutive season that Moravian has won at least 23 games, and a perfect 12-0 mark in the inaugural Landmark Conference season.  The Greyhounds made the postseason for the 14th consecutive season and win the 2008 Landmark Conference Championship Tournament.
