MORAVIAN’S SYDNI WISNIEWSKI & MAURICE YOUNG SELECTED FOR NCAA
NATIONAL STUDENT-ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Moravian College freshmen Sydni Wisniewski (Orlando, FL/Winter Park HS) and Maurice Young (Philadelphia, PA/Chestnut Hill Academy) are two of 700 student-athletes selected to attend the 2008 NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida May 25th through 29th.

Wisniewski, who is a member of Moravian’s women’s track & field team and competing at the 2008 ECAC Division III Championships May 15th & 16th, will attend Conference I on May 25th to 27th, while Young, a starting point guard for Moravian’s men’s basketball squad, will attend Conference II on May 27th to 29th.

The NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference provides NCAA student-athletes with a forum to openly discuss issues that may affect them on their campuses and in their communities, while also providing them with the opportunity to enhance their leadership, communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills. The conference also promotes better communication among student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty and communities.

Wisniewski and Young will be the eighth and ninth Moravian College student-athletes to attend an NCAA Leadership Conference in the last ten years and this marks the sixth straight year Moravian has sent at least one student-athlete to the conference.  Wisniewski and Young are two of the 233 NCAA Division III student-athletes at the conferences.

Four other area schools will have student-athletes at the conferences with Cedar Crest College and East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania sending a representative to each conference and Lafayette College and Lehigh University represented at the second conference.  Two other Landmark Conference schools, The University of Scranton and Susquehanna University, will join Moravian at both conferences.
