MORAVIAN’S BISCI & EARLEY NAMED LEHIGH VALLEY SMALL COLLEGE BASKETBALL TEAMS OF THE MONTH

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Sophomore Alyssa Bisci (Easton, PA/Easton HS) and senior Chris Earley (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan HS) from the Moravian College basketball teams have been named to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Teams of the Month for December by the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization at its first luncheon of the 2007-08 season at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem.

The Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization is made up of the seven small college schools in the Lehigh Valley including NCAA Division II schools East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and NCAA Division III schools Cedar Crest College, Delaware Valley College, DeSales University, Moravian College and Muhlenberg College.

Bisci, a forward, has helped the Moravian women open the year with a 5-3 overall record and a 1-0 record in the inaugural Landmark Conference season.  Bisci currently leads the squad in scoring at 14.8 points per game and is second in rebounding at 7.0 rebounds per contest despite missing four games of the year with an injury.  Bisci was also named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week on Monday after helping the Greyhounds to a 3-0 mark last week.

Joining Bisci on the December Team of the Month were Kelly Oakes from Cedar Crest, Moira Donohue of Delaware Valley, LeighAnn Burke from DeSales, Kristen Murray of East Stroudsburg, Rachel Weidensaul from Kutztown and Lauren Boyle of Muhlenberg.

Earley, a forward, has led the Greyhounds to a 7-2 record in the first month of the season and a six-game winning streak, Moravian’s longest since the 1996-97 season.  Earley leads the squad in scoring and rebounding with averages of 14.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.  Earley also leads the squad with 21 assists and seven blocked shots, and he was on the All-Tournament Team at the 7th Annual Emmanuel College Tip-Off Tournament and the Landmark Conference Player of the Week on December 3rd.

Joining Earley on the December Team of the Month were Jason Seipt of Delaware Valley, Eddie Ohlson from DeSales, Andy Heimbach of East Stroudsburg, Stephen Dennis from Kutztown and Ryan Foster of Muhlenberg.

The next Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, January 15th, 2008 at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem.
