FIVE MORAVIAN FOOTBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN FINAL 2007 NCAA DIVISION III STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College football team has five student-athletes ranked in the final 2007 NCAA Division III statistical rankings, and the Greyhounds are ranked in the top 50 in two team categories.

Junior quarterback Marc Braxmeier (Center Valley, PA/Allentown Central Catholic HS), pictured at right, is 36th in the nation in pass efficiency with a 139.3 rating having completed 129 of 236 passes for 1,948 yards with 17 touchdowns and ten interceptions in ten games.

Junior linebacker Andrew Morrissey (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus HS) , pictured at left, is tied for third in the nation in forced fumbles at 0.44 per game with four forced fumbles in nine games.  Junior linebacker Kevin McGorry (Whitehall, PA/Allentown Central Catholic HS), pictured in middle right, is tied for 27th in country in forced fumbles with 0.30 per game with three forced fumbles in ten contests.

Junior kicker Brian Reckenbeil (Branchburg, NJ/Somerville HS), pictured at bottom left, is tied for 11th in the country in field goals per game at 1.1 with a school record 11 field goals in ten games.  Reckenbeil was 11 of 20 on field goals and scored a school record 62 points for a kicker.

Junior defensive back Carl Robinson (Boothwyn, PA/Garnet Valley HS), pictured on bottom right, is tied for 50th in the nation in interceptions at 0.5 interceptions with five interceptions in ten games.  Robinson had four interceptions in a three game stretch for the Greyhounds.

Moravian is 49th in pass efficiency at 136.0 and 22nd in punt return defense, allowing just 4.73 yards per punt return by its opponents.

The Greyhounds have completed the 2007 season with an overall record of 6-4 and a 4-4 slate in the team’s first season as an associate member of the Centennial Conference.
