THREE GREYHOUNDS & MORAVIAN TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III WOMEN’S BASKETBALL STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Sophomores guard Jessica Foran (Annandale, NJ/Rutgers Prep HS) and forwards Alyssa Bisci (Easton, PA/Easton HS) and Kirsty Stearns (East Norwich, NY/Oyster Bay HS) along with the Moravian College women’s basketball team are ranked in free throw percentage in the eighth NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2007-08 season including games through February 17th.

Stearns, pictured at right, is ranked fourth in the country at 91.5 percent for the season, and Stearns is 75 of 82 at the line having played in all 24 games for the Greyhounds. 

Foran, who recently reached the minimum for percent of team games played due to early season injuries, is currently fifth in the nation in free throw percentage at 91.0 percent, having made 91 of 100 free throws this season.  Foran, pictured at left, missed five games at the start of the season and has played in just 19 of Moravian’s 24 games this season.

Bisci, pictured at bottom right, is currently 16th in the nation in free throw percentage at 86.9 percent, and she has made 86 of 99 free throws in 20 games this season, having missed four games with an injury early in the year. 

Moravian is ranked sixth in free throw percentage this season at 75.4 percent, making 451 of 598 free throw attempts.  The Greyhounds have made 55 more free throws than their opponents have attempted this season.

The Greyhounds, who are 16-8 overall and 9-4 in Landmark Conference action, will close out the 2007-08 regular season in a Landmark Conference game versus The University of Scranton on Saturday, February 23th.  Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
