MORAVIAN’S SYDNI WISNIEWSKI HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Freshman sprinter/jumper Sydni Wisniewski (Orlando, FL/Winter Park HS) of the Moravian College women’s indoor track & field team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for her performances last weekend in leading the Greyhounds to the inaugural Landmark Conference Championship.

Wisniewski, who has now been the Landmark Conference Track Athlete of the Week four times this season, was named the Female Track Athlete of the Meet at the Landmark Conference Championship after winning the 200-meter dash in an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference qualifying time of 26.38 seconds and 400-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 58.76 seconds. Wisniewski also helped the 4x200-meter relay team win in a school record and ECAC qualifying time of 1:45.49 and the 4x400-meter relay team to a first place finish in an ECAC qualifying time of 4:06.93.

Wisniewski was the runner-up in the 55-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 7.45 seconds, and she was third in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 5.06 meters (16 feet, 7 1/4 inches).  Wisniewski finished off her afternoon with seventh place in the shot put toss of 9.09 meters (29 feet, ten inches).

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Friday, March 7th in the first day of the 2008 ECAC Division III Championships that will be held at Harvard University.
