MORAVIAN COLLEGE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM AWARDED POOL B BERTH TO 2008-09
NCAA DIVISION III NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College women’s basketball team has been awarded one of the three Pool B/independent berths into the 2008-09 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament Field of 63 announced Monday.  Click here for the complete bracket.

The Greyhounds will be hosting the first and second rounds in Johnston Hall with Moravian taking on Tufts University (21-4) in the first round while DeSales University and The College of New Jersey will play in the other first round game on Friday, March 6th at times to be announced.  The second round game between the winners of the first round on Saturday, March 7th.

Moravian has a 21-6 record on the year and will be making its seventh appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament and second in the last four years.  The Greyhounds are 7-9 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, playing for the national championship in 1991-92 and reaching the Sweet 16 in 1990-91 and 1992-93. 

Game times are 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6th for The College of New Jersey versus DeSales University game with the Moravian versus Tufts University contest to follow 30 minutes after the first game concludes, no earlier than 7:00 p.m. Saturday's second round contest has been scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Tickets will be $6 for adults and $3 for senior citizens, students and children. Children under the age of two are free.
