MORAVIAN’S BRENDAN CLOSE NAMED LANDMARK CONFERENCE BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Freshman pitcher Thomas Brendan Close (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom HS) of the Moravian College baseball team has been named the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance last week.

Close, who was also the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week on March 9th, tossed a four-hit shutout with six strikeouts and no walks in a 23-0 Landmark Conference win at Drew University in his only action of the week.  It was Close's second shutout of the season, and he is now just three strikeouts shy of the single season record of 65 on the season with 62.

Moravian, which is 16-11 overall and 9-2 in Landmark Conference action, is scheduled to return to action on Monday, April 13th in a Landmark Conference contest at Drew University beginning at 3:30 p.m.
