GREYHOUNDS DROP TO 4TH IN FINAL NCAA DIVISION III SOFTBALL REGIONAL POLL OF 2009 SEASON

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College softball team dropped two spots to fourth in the East Region in the third and final 2009 NCAA Division III Regional Rankings released Wednesday.

The Greyhounds, who have an in-region record of 29-7, which is what the poll is mainly based on, trail Rowan University Messiah College and William Paterson University and are ahead of The College of New Jersey, Kean University, Lebanon Valley College and Ursinus College.  Moravian, which was ranked second in the first two polls of the season, is 2-1 against Lebanon Valley this season, and the Greyhounds have and one win versus The College of New Jersey.  Moravian dropped a 2-1, eight inning decision to Kean University

The Greyhounds, who are 31-9 overall, are slated to return to action on Friday, May 1st as the host of the 2009 Landmark Conference Tournament at Blue & Grey Field.  Top seeded Moravian will play fourth seeded The Catholic University of America in the tournament’s opening game at 11:00 a.m.
