MORAVIAN’S KATE HARRISON HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Junior forward/guard Kate Harrison (Cold Spring Harbor, NY/Cold Spring Harbor HS) of the Moravian College women’s basketball team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Harrison led Moravian to a 2-0 mark last week to extend the team's winning streak to three games including a 57-45 win over The University of Scranton to begin the 2008-09 Landmark Conference season.  Harrison began the week with 16 points and seven rebounds in Moravian's 86-72 come-from-behind win over The College of New Jersey.  She then had another 16 points, six rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots in the victory over Scranton, which was another come-from-behind win. 

For the week, Harrison averaged 16.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.  She shot 65.2 percent (15-for-23) from the floor and was two-for-four at the foul line.  Harrison had four assists, two steals, two blocked shots and just six turnovers while playing 69 of a possible 80 minutes last week.

Moravian has won three straight games to improve to 5-1 overall this season, and the Greyhounds are 1-0 in Landmark Conference action.  Moravian is scheduled to return to the court on Friday, December 12th when the squad hosts NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania in a non-conference game tipping off at 7:00 p.m.  The Greyhounds will be hosting the NCAA Take a Kid to the Game on Friday night.
