MORAVIAN’S ERIC WEAVER HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Junior forward Eric Weaver (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury HS) of the Moravian College men’s basketball team has been named the Landmark Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his performance last week.

Weaver helped Moravian to a 1-1 record last week including a 78-71 victory over The University of Scranton to open the 2008-09 Landmark Conference season.  Weaver started the week with a team high 16 points to go with seven rebounds and two assists in a 75-59 loss at Arcadia University.  Weaver then scored a career high 28 points including going 15-for-18 at the foul line, and he has two assists in Moravian's win over Scranton. 

For the week, Weaver averaged 22.0 points per game while shooting 52.4 percent (11 of 21) from the floor.  He was also three-for-nine behind the three point line and 19-for-25 at the foul line.  Weaver also had eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and just six turnovers in 56 minutes of action.

Moravian, 2-4 overall and 1-0 in Landmark Conference action, will return to the court on Tuesday, December 9th in a non-conference game at Swarthmore College tipping off at 8:00 p.m.
