MORAVIAN’S FORNAZOR & MUNLEY NAMED LEHIGH VALLEY SMALL COLLEGE BASKETBALL TEAMS OF THE MONTH

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Juniors Lauren Fornazor (Rivervale, NJ/Pascack Valley HS) and Joseph Munley (Macungie, PA/Emmaus HS) from the Moravian College basketball teams have been named to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Unsung Player Teams of the Month for December by the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization at its first luncheon of the 2008-09 season at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem.

The Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization is made up of the seven small college schools in the Lehigh Valley including NCAA Division II schools East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and NCAA Division III schools Cedar Crest College, Delaware Valley College, DeSales University, Moravian College and Muhlenberg College.

Fornazor, a forward, has helped the Moravian women open the year with a 5-1 overall record and a 1-0 record in the inaugural Landmark Conference season.  Fornazor has played in all six games, one of ten players on the team to do so, and is averaging six minutes per contest.  She has eight rebounds, five assists, four points, three steals and a blocked shot while not committing a turnover.  Fornazor averaged 4.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game last season while playing 16.7 minutes a game.

Joining Fornazor on the December Unsung Player Team of the Month were Sarah Campbell from Cedar Crest, Brittney Zimmerman of Delaware Valley, Kaila Wiand from DeSales, Keri Cahill of East Stroudsburg, Katie Dovey from Kutztown and Bethany Enterline of Muhlenberg.

Munley, a forward, has helped the Greyhounds to a 2-4 overall mark and a 1-0 slate in Landmark Conference action.  Munley has moved into the starting line-up this season after playing just 16 varsity games as a junior varsity player in his first two seasons.  Munley is currently second on the Greyhound squad at 4.5 rebounds per game, and he is playing 21.5 minutes per game.  Munley has seven assists and five turnovers, the only Moravian player with more assists that turnovers this season.

Joining Munley on the December Unsung Player Team of the Month were Tom Signore of Delaware Valley, Jim Malatesta from DeSales, Aaron Pinckney of East Stroudsburg, Mark Bower from Kutztown and Chris MacIntosh of Muhlenberg.

The next Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, January 13th, 2009 at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem.
