MORAVIAN’S BLAIR MAGINNIS & ERIC WOODRUFF HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Senior thrower Blair Maginnis (Asbury, NJ/Warren Hills Regional HS) of the Moravian College men’s indoor track & field team has been named the Landmark Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week while sophomore sprinter Eric Woodruff (Brodheadsville, PA/Pius X HS) was honored as the Landmark Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for their performances last week.

The Greyhounds returned to action for the first time in 2009 and competed at the Orange & Maroon Classic hosted by Landmark Conference rival Susquehanna University.

Moravian had one first place individual finish in the non-scoring meet Maginnis winning the shot put with an Eastern College Athletic Conference qualifying toss of 14.46 meters (47 feet, 5 1/4 inches). Maginnis, pictured at right, also took third in the 35-pound weight throw with an ECAC qualifying distance of 15.27 meters (50 feet, 1 1/4 inches), a distance that tied the Moravian record in the event.

Woodruff led the Greyhounds on the track at the Orange & Maroon Classic with a sixth place in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.31 seconds and an eighth place finish in the 55-meter dash in 6.75 seconds.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, January 24th at the John Covert Classic hosted by Bethlehem University in Bethlehem.
