THREE GREYHOUNDS, MORAVIAN TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III WOMEN’S BASKETBALL STATISTICS
Greyhounds Lead Nation in Free Throw Percentage

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Three members of the Moravian College women’s basketball team and the Greyhound squad are ranked in the fourth NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2008-09 season including games through January 18th.

Junior forward Alyssa Bisci (Easton, PA/Easton HS) is ranked fourth in the country in free throw percentage at 92.2 percent having made 83 of 90 free throw attempts in 15 games.  Bisci, pictured at right, has made 50 straight free throws, having not missed since December 12th versus NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. 

Junior guard Jessica Foran (Annandale, NJ/Rutgers Prep HS), pictured at left, is 13th in the nation in free throw percentage at 90.3 percent for the season, and she is 65 of 72 at the line in 15 games. 

Sophomore guard/forward Amy Heffner (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland HS), pictured at right, is 39th in the country in free throw percentage at 86.4 percent, having made 38 of 44 free throw attempts in the 14 games she has played in.

Moravian remained top team in the nation in free throw percentage this season at 80.7 percent, making 322 of 399 free throw attempts, both also the top numbers in the country.  The Greyhounds are 17th in won-loss percentage at 87.5 percent and 38th in scoring offense at 73.5 points per game.

The Greyhounds, who are 14-2 overall and 4-1 in Landmark Conference action, will return to the court on Saturday, January 24th in a Landmark Conference game versus Drew University tipping off at 5:30 p.m. in Johnston Hall.  Moravian has won nine straight games at home and is currently ranked 21st  in the nation in this week’s D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.
