THREE GREYHOUNDS, MORAVIAN TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III WOMEN’S BASKETBALL STATISTICS
Greyhounds Lead Nation in Free Throw Percentage

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Three members of the Moravian College women’s basketball team and the Greyhound squad are ranked in the fifth NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2008-09 season including games through January 25th.

Junior forward Alyssa Bisci (Easton, PA/Easton HS) is ranked sixth in the country in free throw percentage at 91.6 percent having made 87 of 95 free throw attempts in 17 games.  Bisci, pictured at right, had made a school record 50 straight free throws from December 12th to January 25th. 

Junior guard Jessica Foran (Annandale, NJ/Rutgers Prep HS), pictured at left, is tenth in the nation in free throw percentage at 90.3 percent for the season, and she is 65 of 72 at the line in 17 games. 

Sophomore guard/forward Amy Heffner (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland HS), pictured at bottom right, is tied for 15th in the country in free throw percentage at 88.9 percent, having made 48 of 54 free throw attempts in the 16 games she has played in.

Moravian remained top team in the nation in free throw percentage this season at 81.2 percent, making 371 of 457 free throw attempts, both also the top numbers in the country.  The Greyhounds are tied for 11th in won-loss percentage at 88.9 percent, 32nd in scoring offense at 73.9 points per game and 37th in blocked shots with 4.6 per contest.

The Greyhounds, who are 16-2 overall and 6-1 in Landmark Conference action, will return to the court on Friday, January 30th in a Landmark Conference game at Susquehanna University tipping off at 5:30 p.m. in Selinsgrove.  Moravian is currently ranked 17th in the nation in this week’s D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.
