THREE GREYHOUNDS, MORAVIAN TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III WOMEN’S BASKETBALL STATISTICS
Greyhounds Lead Nation in Free Throw Percentage

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Three members of the Moravian College women’s basketball team and the Greyhound squad are ranked in the sixth NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2008-09 season including games through February 1st.

Junior forward Alyssa Bisci (Easton, PA/Easton HS) is ranked fourth in the country in free throw percentage at 90.9 percent having made 90 of 99 free throw attempts in 19 games.  Bisci, pictured at right, had made a school record 50 straight free throws from December 12th to January 25th. 

Sophomore guard/forward Amy Heffner (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland HS), pictured at left, is ninth in the nation in free throw percentage at 89.3 percent, having made 50 of 56 free throw attempts in the 18 games she has played in.

Junior guard Jessica Foran (Annandale, NJ/Rutgers Prep HS), pictured at bottom right, is 11th in the country in free throw percentage at 88.8 percent for the season, and she is 71 of 80 at the line in 19 games. 

Moravian remained top team in the nation in free throw percentage this season for the third straight week at 81.3 percent, making 401 of 493 free throw attempts, both also the top numbers in the country.  The Greyhounds are tied for 24th in won-loss percentage at 85.0 percent, 33rd in blocked shots with 4.6 per contest and 36th in scoring offense at 72.9 points per game.

The Greyhounds, who are 17-3 overall and 7-2 in Landmark Conference action, will return on Saturday, February 7th when the Greyhounds travel to The United States Merchant Marine Academy for a Landmark Conference game at 5:30 p.m. in King’s Point, New York.  Moravian is currently ranked 23rd in the nation in this week’s D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.
