MORAVIAN’S BURLEY & SYLVAINUS NAMED TO CENTENNIAL CONFERENCE WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

LANCASTER, PA --- Junior defensive back Daniel Burley (Easton, PA/Easton HS) and junior wide receiver Shawn Sylvainus (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth HS) of the Moravian College football team have been named to the Centennial Conference Weekly Honor Roll for their performances in the Greyhounds’ 21-16 conference victory over McDaniel College Saturday afternoon to open the 2009 Centennial Conference season.

Burley, pictured at right, helped the Moravian defense hold McDaniel to just a second half field goal in the victory.  Burley scooped up a key fumble recovery with just 50 seconds remaining and returned it eight yards as the Greyhounds stopped the Green Terror’s final drive.  Burley had a total of seven tackles including one for loss of three yards

Sylvainus, pictured at left, led the Greyhounds’ offense with four receptions for 74 yards including touchdown catches of 38 and 30 yards on Moravian’s first two possessions

The Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday, September 19th in a non-conference game versus Lebanon Valley College kicking off at 1:00 p.m. at Rocco Calvo Field.
