MORAVIAN’S MAURA ACOX HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE FIELD HOCKEY DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Junior goalie Maura Acox (Old Bridge, NJ/St. John Vianney HS) of the Moravian College field hockey team has been named the Landmark Conference Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Acox helped lead Moravian to a 2-1 record last week as she posted a 0.65 goal-against average with two shutouts and eight saves.  Acox had a 1-0 overtime shutout of Arcadia University with five saves to begin the week and a 1-0 shutout of Richard Stockton College of New Jersey with one save to end the week.  Acox has registered three shutouts this season, a career high, and six for her career, the first four by 2-0 scores and the last two by 1-0 scores.

Moravian, which is 4-4 overall, is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, September 23rd in a non-conference match versus rival Muhlenberg College beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Betty Prince Field in Bethlehem.
