FOUR MORAVIAN FOOTBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College football team has four players ranked in the sixth NCAA Division III statistical rankings of 2009 through games of October 11th, and the Greyhounds are ranked in the top 50 in one team category.

Freshman running back/kick returner Langston Ross (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty HS) is 22nd in the country in kickoff returns, averaging 27.38 yards per return.  Ross, pictured at right, has returned eight kickoffs for 219 yards this season with a long return of 52 yards versus McDaniel College on September 12th.

Freshman defensive back/kick returner Travis King (Wilmington, DE/Concord HS) is 39th in the nation in punt returns with an average of 11.10 yards per return, and King, pictured at left, is 68th in kickoff returns at 23.90 yards per return.  King has ten punt returns for 111 yards and 21 kickoff returns for 502 yards this fall.  His longest returns, a 29-yard punt return and a 56-yard kickoff return both came against Dickinson College on October 3rd.

Senior running back Ryan Rempe (Dickson City, PA/Mid-Valley HS) is 56th in the nation in rushing yardage at 92.40 yards per game.  Rempe, pictured at right, has 462 yards on 112 carries in five games, and he has run for 310 yards on 72 attempts in the last two weeks. Rempe was in for just one play against McDaniel College on September 12th before being injured, and he missed the September 19th game versus Lebanon Valley College.

Senior defensive back Brad Bodine (Mt. Bethel, PA/Bangor HS) is tied for 68th in the nation in interceptions with an average of 0.50 per game.  Bodine, pictured at left, has intercepted three passes with 15 return yards in six contests, and he had two interceptions at Johns Hopkins University on September 26th.

Moravian is tenth in the nation in kickoff returns with an average of 24.97 yards per return on 30 kickoff returns this season, and the Greyhounds lead the Centennial Conference in kickoff returns.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday, October 17th in a Centennial Conference game at Franklin & Marshall College.  Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. at Sponaugle-Williamson Field in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
