MORAVIAN’S MAUREEN HELFERS HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE
FIELD HOCKEY OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Junior midfielder Maureen Helfers (Westbury, NY/W.T. Clarke HS) of the Moravian College field hockey team has been named the Landmark Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Helfers scored her first goal of the season and it was the game-winning goal as Moravian defeated Goucher College, 1-0, to extend its winning streak to three straight matches in its only contest last week.  Helfers’ goal also helped the Greyhounds even their Landmark Conference record at 2-2 and move the team into a three-way tie for third place with two conference matches remaining.

Moravian, which is 7-8 overall, is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, October 21st in a non-conference match versus Gwynedd-Mercy College beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Betty Prince Field in Bethlehem.
