THREE MORAVIAN FOOTBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College football team has three players ranked in the seventh NCAA Division III statistical rankings of 2009 through games of October 18th, and the Greyhounds are ranked in the top 50 in one team category.

Freshman running back/kick returner Langston Ross (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty HS) is 46th in the country in kickoff returns, averaging 24.31 yards per return.  Ross, pictured at right, has returned 13 kickoffs for 316 yards this season with a long return of 52 yards versus McDaniel College on September 12th.

Freshman defensive back/kick returner Travis King (Wilmington, DE/Concord HS) is 48th in the nation in punt returns with an average of 10.27 yards per return, and King, pictured at left, is 54th in kickoff returns at 23.90 yards per return.  King has 11 punt returns for 113 yards and 21 kickoff returns for 502 yards this fall.  His longest returns, a 29-yard punt return and a 56-yard kickoff return both came against Dickinson College on October 3rd.

Senior running back Ryan Rempe (Dickson City, PA/Mid-Valley HS) is 58th in the nation in rushing yardage at 91.83 yards per game.  Rempe, pictured at right, has 551 yards and a touchdown on 135 carries in six games, and he has run for 399 yards on 95 attempts in the last three weeks.  Rempe was in for just one play against McDaniel College on September 12th before being injured, and he missed the September 19th game versus Lebanon Valley College.

Moravian is 18th in the nation in kickoff returns with an average of 23.97 yards per return on 36 kickoff returns this season, and the Greyhounds are second in the Centennial Conference in kickoff returns.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday, October 24th in a Centennial Conference game versus Juniata College.  Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. at Rocco Calvo Field in Bethlehem for Moravian’s annual Homecoming & Family Day game.
