THREE MORAVIAN FOOTBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College football team has three players ranked in the seventh NCAA Division III statistical rankings of 2009 through games of October 25th, and the Greyhounds are ranked in the top 50 in one team category.

Freshman defensive back/kick returner Travis King (Wilmington, DE/Concord HS) is tied for 55th in the nation in punt returns with an average of 9.17 yards per return, and King, pictured at right, is 49th in kickoff returns at 24.27 yards per return.  King has 12 punt returns for 110 yards and 22 kickoff returns for 534 yards this fall.  His longest returns, a 29-yard punt return and a 56-yard kickoff return both came against Dickinson College on October 3rd.

Freshman running back/kick returner Langston Ross (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty HS) is 66th in the country in kickoff returns, averaging 23.71 yards per return.  Ross, pictured at left, has returned 14 kickoffs for 332 yards this season with a long return of 52 yards versus McDaniel College on September 12th.

Senior running back Ryan Rempe (Dickson City, PA/Mid-Valley HS) is 67th in the nation in rushing yardage at 87.29 yards per game.  Rempe, pictured at right, has 611 yards and a touchdown on 156 carries in seven games.  Rempe was in for just one play against McDaniel College on September 12th before being injured, and he missed the September 19th game versus Lebanon Valley College.

Moravian is 13th in the nation in kickoff returns with an average of 23.97 yards per return on 38 kickoff returns this season, and the Greyhounds are first in the Centennial Conference in kickoff returns.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday, October 31st in a Centennial Conference game at Ursinus College.  Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. at Patterson Field in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.
