MORAVIAN’S MARY KING NAMED TO LANDMARK ALL-CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM

MADISON, NJ --- Junior middle blocker Mary King (Paramus, NJ/Paramus HS) of the Moravian College women’s volleyball team has been named to the 2009 Landmark Conference Women’s Volleyball All-Conference First Team announced Monday.

King helped the Greyhounds to a 15-18 mark this season and a berth in the Landmark Conference Tournament.  Moravian, which was seeded fifth in the tournament, was knocked out of the tournament in the quarterfinals by Goucher College.

King, who was the 2008 Landmark Conference Rookie of the Yea, led Moravian and the Landmark Conference with 109 blocks, and she had a team high 47 service aces this fall.  King also led the Greyhounds with a .253 hitting percentage, and she was second on the squad in kills with 254 in 643 attempts.  King added 54 digs and seven assists while accounting for a team high 371.5 points.  In her career, King is third in school history with 288 blocks to go along with 710 kills, 172 digs, 114 service aces and 21 assists.
