MORAVIAN’S BENJAMIN LEAVY HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE MEN’S LACROSSE
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Junior goalie Benjamin Leavy (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown HS) of the Moravian College men’s lacrosse team has been named the Landmark Conference Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for his performance last week.

Leavy posted a 1-1 record in non-conference action last week as Moravian earned its first win of the season.  Leavy had 12 saves, a ground ball and a caused turnover in 63:05 minutes of action in a 12-11 overtime loss at Gwynedd-Mercy College as the Griffins took 32 shots.  Leavy then had 17 saves and three ground balls in Moravian's 11-9 victory over Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Leavy became the second goalie in school history to reach 300 career saves in the Richard Stockton match, now with 316.

The Greyhounds, who are 1-5 overall, are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, March 27th in the 2010 Landmark Conference season opener at The Catholic University of America at 1:00 p.m.
