FOUR GREYHOUNDS, TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III SOFTBALL STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Four players from the Moravian College softball team, and Greyhound squad are ranked in the first NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2010 season including games through March 28th.

Sophomore pitcher/infielder Jenna Carmon (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central HS) is ranked in seven categories including being third in the country in walks per seven innings at 0.75.  Carmon, pictured at right, is also tied for sixth in wins with ten, tied for 15th in shutouts with three, 18th in hits allowed per game at 5.81, 19th in ERA in 1.74, tied for 50th in strikeouts with 50 and 52nd in strikeouts per seven innings at 4.8.

Freshman outfielder/shortstop Katie Gross (Allentown, PA/Parkland HS), pictured at left, is 25th in sacrifice hits per game at 0.39, and she is 33rd in on-base percentage at .541 and tied for 44th in batting average at .462.

Junior infielder Stephanie Falzarano (South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield HS) is tied for 20th in toughest to strike out with just one strikeout in 54 at-bats this season.  Falzarano, pictured at bottom right, is also tied for 83rd in runs per game at 1.0.


Freshman first baseman Amanda Dizinno (Budd Lake, NJ/Mount Olive HS), pictured at bottom left, is tied for 16th in toughest to strikeout with just one strikeout in 60 at-bats this season.

Moravian is 43rd in the country with an ERA of 1.99.

The Greyhounds, who are 12-6 on the season and ranked 25th in this week’s National Fastptich Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll, are scheduled to return to action on Thursday, April 1st in a non-conference doubleheader at Albright College beginning at 3:00 p.m.
