FOUR GREYHOUNDS, TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III SOFTBALL STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Four players from the Moravian College softball team, and Greyhound squad are ranked in the second NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2010 season including games through April 4th.

Sophomore pitcher/infielder Jenna Carmon (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central HS) is ranked in seven categories including being fifth in the country in walks per seven innings at 0.78.  Carmon, pictured at right, is also tied for 10th in wins with ten, tied for 28th in shutouts with three, 23rd in hits allowed per game at 5.8, 22nd in ERA in 1.65, tied for 81st in strikeouts with 60 and 54th in strikeouts per seven innings at 4.7.

Freshman outfielder/shortstop Katie Gross (Allentown, PA/Parkland HS) is tied for 25th in batting average at .492, and Gross, pictured at left, is 16th in on-base percentage at .577, tied for 27th in sacrifice hits per game at 0.35 and 48th in runs per game at 48th.

Junior infielder Stephanie Falzarano (South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield HS), pictured at bottom right, is 26th in toughest to strike out with just one strikeout in 54 at-bats this season.

Freshman first baseman Amanda Dizinno (Budd Lake, NJ/Mount Olive HS), pictured at bottom left, is 45th in toughest to strikeout with twos strikeout in 67 at-bats this season, and she is tied for 32nd in sacrifice flies with two.

Moravian is 36th in the country with an ERA of 1.84.

The Greyhounds, who are 14-6 on the season and tied for 22nd in this week’s National Fastptich Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll, are scheduled to return to action on Thursday, April 8th in a non-conference doubleheader at Muhlenberg College beginning at 3:00 p.m.
