MORAVIAN’S ANNA MEOLA NAMED LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Sophomore Anna Meola (Willow Grove, PA/Upper Moreland) of the Moravian College women’s tennis team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Meola posted a perfect 4-0 week in singles and doubles competition as Moravian claimed a pair of victories.  She produced the deciding point with a 6-3, 6-4 win at fifth singles as Moravian won a battle of regionally-ranked teams topping Wilkes 5-4.  She also teamed with freshmen Chelsea Ott (Whitehall, PA/William Allen) for an 8-5 win at doubles.  She repeated the feat as Moravian stayed unbeaten in the Landmark as she moved up to fourth singles and won 6-2, 6-1 and 8-2 in singles and doubles respectively in a win over Susquehanna.

The Greyhounds, who are 9-3 overall and 3-0 in Landmark Conference action, are scheduled to return to the courts on Tuesday, April 20th in a Landmark Conference match at The University of Scranton beginning at 3:30 p.m.
