MORAVIAN’S SYMONNE SCOTT AND ANNA HEIM HONORED AS
LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ ---For the second week in a row, senior sprinter Symonne Scott (Attleboro, MA/Attleboro HS) and senior pole vault Anna Heim (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown HS) of the Moravian College women’s outdoor track & field team have been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their performances last week.

Scott, pictured at right, performed well at a pair of meets for Moravian this past week. Individually she placed first in the 100 in a time of 12.86 and ran 27.97 to place ninth in the 200 at the Lehigh Games. She was also a part of an NCAA provisional qualifying 4x100 relay which ran 48.52 at the Penn Relays and then followed it with a faster winning time of 48.20 to win the event at Lehigh. 4x100 relay that placed second in a time of 48.73. She also added an NCAA provisional jump in the long jump.

Heim, pictured at left, had another big week in the pole vault, posting NCAA automatic qualifying heights in two meets. She placed fourth behind only three Division I athletes in the pole vault at the Penn Relays by clearing 3.95 meters, the second-best height in school history. Later in the week she won the pole vault at the Lehigh Games with a best effort of 3.85 meters.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, May 1st when they are set compete at the 2010 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA.
