MORAVIAN’S SYMONNE SCOTT AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ ---For the third week in a row, senior sprinter Symonne Scott (Attleboro, MA/Attleboro HS), pictured right, of the Moravian College women’s outdoor track & field team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for her performances last week.

Scott was named the Track Athlete of the Year as she helped Moravian claim its third-straight Landmark Conference title this past weekend. She won both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes at the meet setting a new Landmark record with an NCAA provisional time of 12.29 in the 100 and running 25.97 in the 200. Scott was also a member of the winning 4x100-meter relay, and added a first-place finish in the long jump and a runner-up effort in the high jump.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Friday, May 7th when they are set compete at the 2010 NYC Qualifying Challenge at Icahn Stadium in New York, NY.
