MORAVIAN WOMEN’S TENNIS SQUAD TO TRAVEL TO THE UNIVERSITY OF SCRANTON IN
LANDMARK CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS

BETHLEHEM, PA --- The Moravian College women’s tennis team has earned the third seed in the 2010 Landmark Conference Championship Tournament and will travel to second-seeded The University of Scranton in a semifinal match on Tuesday, May 4th at Hoffman Courts beginning at 3:30 p.m.

The Greyhounds are 11-5 overall and were 4-2 in the Landmark Conference season for the second straight year while the Royals are 9-6 overall and 5-1 in Landmark Conference action.  Wednesday’s other semifinal has fourth seeded Susquehanna University traveling to top seed Drew University at 4:30 p.m.  The semifinal winners will meet on Saturday, May 8th at the highest remaining seed to determine the Landmark Conference Champion and the conference’s automatic berth to the 2010 NCAA Division III Tournament.

Moravian head coach Dawn Ketterman-Benner has the Greyhounds in the postseason for the 16th straight season.  Ketterman-Benner, who has a career mark of 248-95, has led Moravian to the conference championship match in each of the last 15 years including winning the first two Landmark Conference titles in 2008 and 2009.

Freshman Chelsea Ott (Whitehall, PA/William Allen HS) leads Moravian with an 18-2 singles record in her debut season, including a 13-0 dual match record at second singles.  Sophomore Anna Meola (Willow Grove, PA/Upper Moreland HS) has a 17-2 singles slate this year, and she is 3-1 record at fourth singles, a 10-0 mark at fifth singles and a 2-0 record at sixth singles.  Sophomore Jami Fein (Blue Bell, PA/Wissahickon HS), who is ranked 21st in the latest ITA Atlantic South Singles Rankings, is 18-4 on the year in singles contests including an 11-3 slate at first singles in dual matches.

Junior Kerry McKinley (Sparta, NJ/Pope John XXIII HS) has posted a 7-8 record, 6-8 at third singles while junior Elizabeth Endy (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin HS) has a 4-7 singles mark.  Endy is 2-1 at sixth singles and 2-6 at fourth singles.  Sophomore Brianna Kavanagh (Pittsgrove, NJ/Arthur P. Schalick HS) is 9-7 in singles with a 7-6 dual match record including a 6-3 mark at sixth singles while freshman Alex Van Buskirk (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg HS) is 1-3 in singles.

In doubles action, Meola and Ott have an 11-3 record, all at second doubles, while freshman Stephanie Cox (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Bishop Eustace HS) and Van Buskirk are 6-2.  Fein and McKinley have posted a 9-6 mark at first doubles while Fein and Ott have a 1-1 doubles slate. Endy and Van Buskirk have a 2-1 doubles mark.  McKinley and Meola are 1-0 in doubles action while Endy and Hay have a 1-3 record.  Endy and Meola as well as Endy and Cox are 1-0.
