BETHLEHEM, PA --- Two Moravian College student-athletes, senior Anna Heim (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown HS) and sophomore Jami Fein (Blue Bell, PA/Wissahickon HS), were honored with awards at the 2010 Lehigh Valley Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women Annual Awards luncheon at Starters Riverport Tuesday.

The LVAIAW is made up of seven schools, Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Lafayette College, Lehigh University, Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, Moravian and Muhlenberg College.  For more information on the LVAIAW, visit www.lvaiaw.org.

Heim, pictured at right during her thank you speech, was named Moravian’s LVAIAW Outstanding Athlete for the school and the Women’s Field Most Outstanding Athlete for the second straight year.  During the indoor season, Heim won the NCAA Division III National Championship in the pole vault with an NCAA Division III meet and all-time best height of 4.16 meters (13 feet, 7 ¾ inches), the first Division III female to clear four meters indoors.  She also won the 2010 Landmark Conference Championship indoors as well as the outdoor title for the fourth straight year.  Heim placed fourth the Women’s College Pole Vault Championship at the Penn Relays earlier this spring, and has the second highest outdoor vault of the 2010 season.  Heim is automatically qualified for the 2010 NCAA Division III National Championships to be held May 27th to 29th at Baldwin-Wallace College.  She will also compete at the 2010 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships on May 13th & 14th at Springfield College.

Fein, who was unable to attend the luncheon, was honored as the LVAIAW Outstanding Athlete in tennis.  Fein, pictured at left, has helped Moravian to its 16th straight postseason appearance as the Greyhounds are playing in the Landmark Conference Semifinals as the third seed on Tuesday at The University of Scranton.  She has posted an 18-4 singles mark this season, and Fein is currently ranked 21st in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Atlantic South Singles Rankings.  Fein has a career record of 36-6 with a 25-5 mark at first singles, and she is 25-13 in doubles action in her career.
