THREE MORAVIAN PLAYERS NAMED TO 2010 LANDMARK MEN’S TENNIS ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS

MADISON, NJ --- The Moravian College men’s tennis team has had three student-athletes earn spots on the 201- Landmark All-Conference Teams with senior Ian Box (Charlestown, MA/The Rivers School), pictured at right, making the First Team as singles players and the Second Team in doubles while sophomore Kevin Holze (Bayside, NY/St. Francis Prep HS) earning a Second Team singles spot and junior Doug Morrow (Coopersburg, PA/Southern Lehigh HS) making the Second Team honors in doubles.
The Landmark All-Conference Teams were selected by the conference’s eight head coaches.  The teams consist of six singles players and three doubles pairings per team based on flight.
The trio helped the Greyhounds under the direction of first-year coach Bill Maxwell to the postseason for the fourth straight season.  The Greyhounds finished the season with a 7-8 mark and the squad reached the 2010 Landmark Conference Semifinals.
Box, who was the 2008 Landmark Conference Player of the Year while earning spots on the Landmark All-Conference First Team in singles and the All-Conference Second Team in doubles, was 5-13 on the year with a 4-10 slate at first singles.  Box, who made the All-Conference First Team in singles and doubles in 2009, completed his career with a 43-27 singles mark, the fourth most victories in school history, and Box was 41-32 in doubles action, the school record for career doubles wins.
Morrow, pictured at left, combined with Box for a 2-2 doubles record this season after Morrow missed the majority of the spring with an injury before returning the line-up at the end of the season.  Morrow and Box were 11-8 a year ago while earning a spot on the Landmark All-Conference First Team in doubles.
Holze, who was a Landmark All-Conference Second Team honoree a year ago in both singles and doubles, had a 10-12 singles mark this year including a 5-3 mark at second singles.  Holze, pictured at right, has a two-year record of 31-16, tied for seventh in school history for victories.
