MORAVIAN’S TRACK & FIELD TEAMS RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III NATIONAL TEAM INDEX

            NEW ORLEANS, LA --- The Moravian College women’s track & field team fell one spot to 18th while the men’s track & field team moved up a position to 11th in the seventh NCAA Division III National Team Index of the 2010 season released by the U S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Wednesday.
            The Greyhound women have a total of 53.57 points, which is good enough for 18th in the national rankings after being ranked a season high 17th last week.  Wartburg College is currently the top ranked team with 181.77 points while Illinois Wesleyan University is the second ranked team with 156.28 points.
            The Greyhound men have a total of 59.28 points, which is good enough for 11th in the national rankings after being 12th last week.  McMurray University is currently the top ranked team with 199.40 points while North Central (Ill.) University is the second ranked team with 174.57 points.
            The scoring system for the teams shall be the sum of two factors measured per individual/relay performance on the descending-order lists: place on the descending order list and a weighed value of the individual/relay performance based on the field (“bonus”).
            Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Thursday, May 27th when they are set compete at the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships at Baldwin-Wallace (OH) College.  The field will be announced on Sunday, May 23rd.
