MORAVIAN’S ALEXANDRA BLAIR HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Sophomore forward Alexandra Blair (Hellertown, PA/Bethlehem Catholic HS) of the Moravian College women’s basketball team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Blair helped 13th-ranked Moravian to a 3-0 week as the Greyhounds extended their winning streak to 13 straight games and remain undefeated in Landmark Conference action at 9-0.  Blair averaged a double-double last week at 12.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per week.  She began the week with a career high and Landmark Conference 18 rebounds to go with 16 points and five blocked shots in just 21 minutes in Moravian's 97-63 win over Alvernia University.

Blair then helped Moravian reach 100 points for the first time in three years as she contributed ten points, three rebounds, a career high four assists and four blocked shots in the Greyhounds' 108-70 win over Drew University.  Blair finished the week with 11 points and nine rebounds in Moravian's 82-61 win over the United States Merchant Marine Academy.  For the week, Blair was 17-for-29 from the floor (58.6 percent) and three-for-five at the foul line while contributing ten blocked shots, five assists, two steals and just two turnovers in just 65 minutes off the bench.

The Greyhounds, who are now 18-2 overall and 9-0 in Landmark Conference action, will return to the court on Friday, February 5th in a Landmark Conference game at The Catholic University of America tipping off at 5:30 p.m. in Washington, D.C.  Moravian can clinch a playoff berth with a victory Friday evening.

Moravian is currently ranked 13th in the nation in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll, and the Greyhounds are also ranked 13th in the USA Today/ESPN Division III Coaches.
